The Lord is still his shepherd.

His every want is now fulfilled.

Pastures rich and cool and green stretch endless before him as he rests beside the quiet stream.

The Lord’s path of righteousness has been his course and the Lord has led him to this place of His name, His portion, His inheritance.

At last, his soul is wondrously and flawlessly at peace, fully restored and made whole.

Even as he traveled that most evil of all the dark valleys, when death itself, our ancient enemy, emerged from the shadows, he had no fear.

For the great, Good Shepherd was at his side, rod and staff in hand, he His precious lamb.

And now he feasts at the table of the Lord. The oil of the Lord’s endless blessing and eternal, steadfast love cascades onto him, pours onto his head, drips onto the fringes of his robe of righteousness.

Exceedingly abundantly greater than all that he might ever hope or imagine, infinitely beyond his highest thoughts, wishes, wants or dreams; his life overflows.

Surely the Lord’s goodness and mercy, His love for him, will never falter or fade. Forever, yes, forever, the Lord shall be his dwelling place.
